St Nicholas
This Facility added a Music Suite, music practice rooms, an Art Suite and Chapel onto the campus of St. Nicholas. The building uses an oval lawn area to connect with the existing campus. This front court doubles an outdoor overflow space for special events. The design blends with the existing facility aesthetics. The project was completed in 2016.
Seventh Day Adventist
The design incorporates a Fellowship Hall, Classrooms, Administrative Offices and 544 seat Sanctuary on Standifer Gap Road in Chattanooga. Recalling iconic countryside churches, this project was completed in 2004. The Site is Master planned for the addition of a Family Life Center with supporting site improvements.
Christ United Methodist Church
The Congregation enlisted us to design a sanctuary addition to their existing church that would facilitate 1,100 seats for both contemporary and traditional services. The Sanctuary was completed in 1997, the Sanctuary form accommodates the complex seating, sight line and AV requirements for both services. As the church grew, the Church called again, this time reorganizing the site and adding parking, classrooms and a Family Life Center in 2011.
St Peter
This project entailed adding onto the existing building complex, that had been constructed over 40 years, with the goal of doubling the size of the elementary school's enrollment and solving several unique life safety and building code challenges. Great care was taken to insure the addition would reinforce and not overshadow the prominence of the existing sanctuary, which was also designed by DH&W.
St Paul's Episcopal Church
We designed this traditional masonry addition to this downtown Church, to provide new offices, Sunday school classrooms, and address the importance of the "everday" building entrance. The new program spaces are organized around an interior courtyard which provides overflow capacity to the narthex and buidling code separation to the National Historic Registered Church. The buidling received an Excellence in Masonry from the Tennessee Masonry Institute in 2001.
